Stretch the Comfort
Stretch the
comfort
This year
required a little extra oomph in the back yard.
I built wire arches to re-route my grape vines from the fence. Along
with the garden aches, I was naturally accompanied by the ongoing pains of life.
I found
myself in need of a small miracle between my neck and lower back.
I was
literally begging for my hot water bottle. In my search for an old world
solution, came a new world discovery.
The elongated hot water bottle. I
like to think of it as full coverage. It wraps everything!
You know I’m
the queen of having emotional ties to inanimate objects. My faith in hot water bottles is decades
old. When I was a little girl, I
remember them always being in the house. They of course serve many functional uses, but
my fondest memories were when I was sick. They would warm me and sooth my
ailing disposition.
I also like
heating pads. However, I primarily use
those for the lower back when seated. There is something uniquely special about
the way a hot water bottle conforms to your body and applies the direct heat.
Self care is
the best care. We can allow ourselves to
relax and the restore. Pulling out the hot water bottle is one of the most
simple ways to achieve this. I often think of gifts with meaning. This would be one of those gifts that people would
initially think of as weird, but you should gift it anyways. Especially when you don’ t know what to get
for the individual who has everything. Stretch the comfort.
