Reminded to Smile
There is nothing sexier than a reminder of full on adulting. That mundane responsible stuff. It always brings a smile to my face. Especially when it’s caught in picture form.
When I’m in weird moments, funny moments, and just mixed feeling moments, I take a random shot of some representative of the moment/time/space.
On a typically busy day, while minding my adult business. My love decides to complete a task that has been on the honey do list for months. Now, one lesson I had to learn as an adult, about other adults, is that they work best when “allowed .” You should “allow” them to be the best version of themselves. They do require guidance, expectations, and incentives, but you need to allow them to be who they are, and to manage their own priorities. Truth be told, this works best for business, and personal relationships. Either way, people will always show you better than they can tell you where their priorities are.
It has been my experience that when allowed, they often rise to the occasion to perform better than expected. On this particularly day, my human, did not disappoint. They remembered, showed up, "Bob the builder fixed it", and left gratitude. Most of all, they know me, and took this picture to show me, they did what I had requested.
When I see this photo in my memories, I smile. For several reasons, but not the one’s you may be conjuring.
- · I’m reminded I’m loved. Acts of service are high on my love language list.
- · I’m reminded that I’m desired. It was important enough to remember to please me.
- · I’m reminded that it’s the little things that matter the most.
It’s always the little things that make me smile. It’s the pictures reminding me of those moments that make me remember how sweet life can be. Yes, this was a little PG++++ imagination, but I know it made you smile too. I hope those smiles and triggered memories stay with you for long embraced moments.
Abundance Always
