Shorter Days
Shorter days
In the fall we have deep vibrant colors and shorter days. It means that we must adapt to a new rhythm and routine.
The thing about shorter days is that I tend to look for ways to find comfort.
My go to practice is in food, fabrics, and friends.
Food.
Fall is all about recipes. New ways to make comfort filled old favorites. I hate following recipes but love the inspired guidance they yield.
I think I bake most in the fall. It's also the perfect time for soul stirring soups.
Food is a vibe and fall elevates it. Just ask a pumpkin spice lover. (I am not, but I get it)
Food creates cozy comfort.
Fabrics.
Listen. I LOVE FASHION! Fall is the most exciting fashion season because of layered fabrics.
Sweater Weather is a whole frequency of the fashion gods. Silks, Tweed, Cotton, Cashmere, and Poly Blends all bursting in spectrums of Fall color.
Not to mention FALL IS FOR ACCESSORIES!
Hats, gloves, scarves, and tights all accompany a mood. Don't get me started on furs and leather! (Sorry not sorry)
Recently, I've invested in some updated decor. The pillows and throw blankets completely elevate a space. Fabrics and Fashion create cozy comfort. Even if it's just in your confidence.
Friends.
As creation hunts and gathers for hibernation, I think our spirits do as well.
This past week I was able to talk with some dear folks that filled my bucket. Some of my more cherished relationships are from folks I rarely see. They always pour into me with love, and I'm ever grateful. Friends are the ultimate cozy comfort.
As the days get shorter, we spend less time frolicking. We yearn for structure and substantial comfort. I always find great pleasure in food, fabrics, and friends. I hope as your harvest moon rises, you are able to as well. As your daylight gets shorter, may your comforts increase.
Abundance Always
❤️ Bliss
