Check Your Emails

Image
A part of adulting is just doing the mundane routine task of each day and week.  Those low priority less desirable items always seem to make it to the back burner.  My top 3 back burner adulting task are Folding Laundry .   Irony- I am always the first to wash my clothes and make sure they dry. However, they live the in the laundry room. Opening Mail .   I check my PO Box once a week. Thanks to technology, my mail typically gets opened once a month on accounting day. Checking Personal Emails.   I have a few personal email accounts.   One entirely for SPAM and one primary one that is for all things related to my everyday personal life. Even still, I seldom check the personal emails.   I’ve always said that we miss out of magically things because we suffer and seek to avoid the mundane.   The truth is, I should be excited about putting up my clean clothes.   There are people who would love my comfortable classic closet and person...

Pulping

Image
Speaking of weight, I’ve gained a few pounds this calendar year.   In a tiny effort to adjust towards health priorities, I decided to start Pulping.   Its the gray area between eating fruits and veggies and juicing.   To juice or not to juice is the question.   Big time juicers cost a big time price tag.   I don’t really want to pay that and I’m not fully persuaded.   This could just be a summer of 2023 thing. (lol)   So we landed somewhere in the middle. Meet the Nutribullet. https://amzn.to/44dcl8E Now, I’m incredibly late to the party, as this appliance took the world by storm ages ago. However, I am here for a revival. It is the unadulterated truth.  Weather you are juicing, pulping, or smoothing, it’s an easy way to accommodate the lifestyle pivot, at an affordable price. My goal is to eat cleaner, add the veggies, and accomplish reasonable meal replacement.   Weight loss isn’t the goal, but I do think it’s the right poi...

The Weight of Impulse

Image
The Weight of Impulse   Social media is a wild place of imagination.   It allows the mind to run amuck.   Our true essence is   often revealed and engaged.   Emotions go uncheck and unfiltered.   Truth be told, it can be a dangerous place. This month is June, and I made a post on my social media page to honor Pride Month. I am a human, and an ally.   That day, a realtor( that I don’t do business with) woke up and chose violence with his unethical comments to my professional solicitation post.     There are so many levels and reasons that this is disturbing. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have responded, and would have deleted and taken a break from the individual.   However, in one slow motion moment of clarity, I thought, I should address it. Ironically my impulse defaulted back to my   inner child underneath a church pew, so I typed a prayer of favor, acceptance, and love over this “bless your heart soul.” This is the b...

Landscapes in Art

Image
Landscapes   Don’t you love a two lane highway ride at sunset? In the Carolinas, its just the best!   All across our beautiful states we can see all of Gods majesty.   Mountains, Rivers, Lakes, Beaches, Farms, Skylines, rolling hills, Historic Trees, and Carolinas Blue Skies. It’s the landscapes for me. I’m a well renown   painter in my inner most private thoughts. (lol) When I received the invitation to attend the exhibit Landscapes by Picasso,   I naturally replied, YES!   The exhibit was stellar.  It was like you had found an undiscovered treasure learning about other facets and insights into the brilliance of this iconic artist. Speaking of little known.  Who knew he also painted landscapes? So I have a theory.   Nature inspires creativity. So much, that in order for me to “reset” I have to spend some time outdoors.   Fortunately for me, I have curated a healing garden in my back yard.   I call it my heart garde...

My Journey with Money and MATH

Image
In 2019 I was inspired to share with the youth about basic adulting and financial literacy.   In response, I wrote and published Math is Everything. https://amzn.to/3N7LViQ   This book is about my relationship with money, and how I use math every day to help clients be able to finance a home, and start building wealth. Our budget is the most important equation we will ever solve in our life.     How we develop the equation of our dream life is typically met with uncertainty and frustration. We all know that our education system is broken.   Instead of teaching children how to creatively image their life and to solve for their dreams, we constrain creativity.   We teach linear conformity and hope for the best.   I like to refer to it as following the yellow brick road.   This path is proven and safe.   We all know what the expected outcomes are. The only problem is that to get to Oz, you must be swept away in a disastrous cy...

Lilies

Image
Lilies   When I think of   the picture of feminine energy in a flower, I see a lily. It something mesmerizing about the way the bloom opens and expands into an array of petals and stamens. They smell so divine.   The have a complex coloring and pattern.   They are delicate and dainty. Its always been lilies and   roses for me.   That is until I figured out how to grow them!   A   cool part of homeownership is the ability to design out door spaces that are conducive to your needs and hearts desire.   Lilies are a part of the great pleasure I have in what is Bliss Gardens and Vineyards.     The upside of lilies are they last a while as a cut flower, bringing you sheer JOY.   The down side to lilies is that they are one bloom and done for the year. For the most part, they are a no fuss flower that changes the hardest of moods and dispositions.   It is one of the many gifts that the month of May holds ...
