My Journey with Money and MATH

In 2019 I was inspired to share with the youth about basic adulting and financial literacy.  In response, I wrote and published Math is Everything. https://amzn.to/3N7LViQ  This book is about my relationship with money, and how I use math every day to help clients be able to finance a home, and start building wealth.

Our budget is the most important equation we will ever solve in our life.    How we develop the equation of our dream life is typically met with uncertainty and frustration. We all know that our education system is broken.  Instead of teaching children how to creatively image their life and to solve for their dreams, we constrain creativity.  We teach linear conformity and hope for the best.  I like to refer to it as following the yellow brick road.  This path is proven and safe.  We all know what the expected outcomes are.

The only problem is that to get to Oz, you must be swept away in a disastrous cyclone, and overcome all doubt and fears with unprecedented faith.  However possible it is to do this, it is not probable for most people, leaving Oz impossible to find.

I love the yellow brick road analogy. The original book by EL Baum was an analogy.  The themes are timeless and applicable to so many things.   I wrote a eBook about it as it relates to qualifying for home loans. https://amzn.to/3C7ufNW

Its easy for our young people to get caught up in cyclones in life.  It’s a little harder for them to follow the same paths, routes and models for success that we did, and accomplish the same outcomes.   They need a better system.  .  Systems are what yield the best results in life.  We all need better systems. This is why I want to share what I know about budgeting, savings, investing, and the EQUITY of homeownership with young people. It’s a timeless and proven path to success and financial security.

I recently shared my journey with money and math with a local high school math class.  The young people were very receptive, and I know they left the classroom with questions.  What do I need to do to live the life I want?  How can I start that process today?  How will my education expedite my goals?

Brian Tracy wrote a book called Goals. https://amzn.to/3ORqLXw   In it he lays the foundation for manifesting and accomplishing your intentions by a deadline. As I shared with the class, we discussed SMART goals.

Those studying STEAM related fields (science, technology, engineering,  will have a great success based on where our society is heading. Changing the way we think creatively, allows us to hone into our resources, and create solutions for us realize tangible results.

We are never too young to do the MATH that solves problems.  We are never too old or too late to generate the right equation for change.  I DIDN’T HAVE ANYONE TO SHOW ME THE MATH. I had to learn by observation and hard knocks.  I’m grateful that I’ve figured a few equations out for myself.

Imagine if you had this version of YOU now, for your inner child you back then.  Lives would be changed. This is what I hope to accomplish with this book and by sharing my story with young people.  I want people to think differently about what is possible for themselves.   I’m more excited and determined than ever to solve for {$X] one day at a time, one client at a time, and helping others to do the same.

MATH IS EVERYTHING! Abundance Always
