Pause
I have habits of continuous activity. Some of them are character defects and I've been working on them progressively.
Perpetual Motion is not sustainable individually. Life requires pauses.
This year my mantra word ACCOMPLISHED has shown up for me in many ways.
I've completed activities and task that were paused in procrastination. More importantly, I've learned why and when pausing is vital.
When we pause we breathe, we focus our thoughts, and we assess. All of the things are important before we resume anything.
Why do we pause anything? We do so instinctively.
We are mind (consciousness), body, and spirit. Another way to process what we are, is by saying what we do. We think (mind), we feel, (body) and we experience. (soul)
Our senses (intuition) are the balance and intersection of our 3 parts.
When we are talking, we should breath.
When we sense we are tired, we should take a break and rest.
When we are experiencing a negative feeling like frustration, fear, abuse, or neglect; we should pause.
We do these things simultaneously AND instinctively. Sometimes we don't.
Sometimes, we keep talking. We talk over others. We don't listen. We talk past preparation.
Some times, we hold our breath. Instead of releasing whatever has us in a holding pattern we are stuck. We hold our breath waiting for directuon, safety, change, and prosperity.
Sometimes we keep driving with the gas light blinking. We falsely rely on confidence instead of preparation. We go to the grocery store hungry without checking the fridge or pantry.
In this season, I am pausing alot more.
Before I commit to an activity, I assess.
Why do I want this?
What will this outcome accomplish for me?
Am I prepared to sustain this until I get results or to completion?
In taking time to be alone with my thoughts a little more, I've learned that I have literally been holding my physical breathe. Practicing mindfulness has reconnected my balance. Deep breathing is vital. Focus is not for the faint of heart.
LIFE is distracting. Social media is distracting. Our EGO is the ultimate distraction, because, sometimes we distract ourselves.
The moment we take a pause, we instinctively breathe, collect our thoughts and focus on the next best thing to say or to do.
As previously stated, when we don't pause, we may mentally check out, or possibly may physically faint.
Pausing, even for the slightest amounts of time creates space for assessment.
Am I ok? Am I on track? Am I making progress?
Do I feel safe? Am I experiencing pleasure or pain? Am I effectively communicating and advocating?
The scariest part is when life pauses you, and it will. Life will come right up to you and knock the wind out of your sails. It feels like an aching gut punch where it's hard to breathe and you are paralyzed.
We may not control life happening but we can pause so that we prepare to pivot.
The power of the pivot is the brief pause it changes the trajectory of an object.
There is nothing wrong with a pause. In fact wisdom demands it.
The beauty of the pause is in the question of will we allow it to resume us, procrastinate us, or paralyze us?
This season in my life, the pause button gets pressed internally and externlife, I am so grateful for the clarity and wisdom I'm gaining day by day.
However the video of your life is playing out, may you pause in perfect timing and pivot on cue.
Abundance Always
