To Thine

To thine own self be true.
They say that there are two prevailing emotions that drive all of our choices. Love and Fear.

So much of our lives we spend in service of others, for the expectation of society, and for the good of the many.

I like these concepts, for those who can balance them with self.
I have a theory. In the effort to become the expectations of others or the self imposed aspirations of our youth, we loose ourselves, and loose our way.

When I think of the words "in and of itself," I think, look closer. DIG DEEPER. In and of ourselves, we are ok. We bob along doing good. We are checking the boxes. There is nothing wrong with this.
But what's right with it? To each their own.
At some point in our lives, I hope we gain the freedom to ask the question what is best for me?

This is an unpopular opinion. Our society teaches selflessness and group economics.
I like these concepts. However, if you sacrifice yourself for the group, where does it leave you and your legacy?

I LOVE the word AND.
Things can co-exist and share space and time. The key is balance.
In and of itself, charity is life, but charity must begin at home.

I think sometimes we fear loving ourselves. We must love ourselves AND from our overflow, love others. If we live emotionally depleted lives, how is this possible?
We must learn to improve our lives and relationships AND change the world.
Self in and of itself is the first thing we should consider.

It is (after all) the most important thing to us all (respectively). After we take care of self, we can pivot.

When we don't think of ourselves first, are we even being honest? In and of itself, priority is paramount. To thine own self be true, so you can be true blue for others.
Abundance Always
